A death probe was underway today after a man died in a Glasgow flat.

The grim discovery was made at in a block of flats in Pollok at around 3pm.

Police are probing the death and investigations were being carried out at the property in Linthaugh Road.

No further details were released as a police source said it was "early days".

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed officers were called to the scene and a man had died within a property.

Forensic officers and detectives were seen going in and out of the block of flats as investigations were carried out.

A marked van and police car were also parked in the street.

One local resident said: "The police are always getting called to that block, trouble with drugs and young ones hanging about."

A post mortem examination was due to take place in a bid to establish the exact cause of death.
