A MAJOR police investigation is underway after a body was found within a home.
The badly decomposed human remains were discovered within a property in Clune Park Street, Port Glasgow in Inverclyde, at 8.30pm on Thursday.
Police Scotland said the death was being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman from Police Scotland said: "We can confirm that the body of an as yet unidentified person was found within a property in Clune Park Street, Port Glasgow, on Thursday.
"A post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death.
"However, the death is being treated as suspicious at this time.
"Inquiries are continuing."
