Police are trying to track down three men seen talking to a young woman as she walked to work.

The 19-year-old was making her way along Dumbarton Road, near to Burns Street, in Clydebank, when three men in a blue Ford car pulled over and spoke to her.

She became "concerned" by their behaviour and then reported the incident to police.

Police chiefs stressed it was not linked to the rape of a 32-year-old woman in Clydebank last week.

The incident took place at around 8.15am on Wednesday.

Chief Inspector Mark Lundie, said: "Although the lady was unharmed, she is very distressed by what happened.

"My officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries in the area including viewing all CCTV we have available.

"Dumbarton Road is pretty busy at this time of the morning and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who has information that will help the enquiry to contact police.

"We are particularly keen to speak to workmen who were nearby and who on seeing what happened came over to see if she was ok.

"Their information could prove helpful to our enquiry and would ask that they contact police as soon as possible."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dumbarton Police office on 101.
