DRUGS worth almost £75,000 have been seized during a series of raids.

Officers recovered the massive haul of cannabis and cocaine from two properties in Lanarkshire.

Police said the drugs have an estimated street value in excess of £73,400.

Officers from the Divisional Pro-active Unit swooped on a flat in Kirkmuir Drive, Fernhill and recovered a cannabis cultivation, worth around £20,000.

Drugs, believed to be cocaine and herbal cannabis, worth £3400, were also found at the flat.

A second operation - at a rented garage in Langdykeside, Lesmahagow - uncovered a cannabis farm worth around £50,000.

Both raids took place on Friday and inquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.

Police stressed the finds are not being linked, but urged anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesman said: "Anyone with information that will assist police with inquiries is asked to contact 101."
