RIOT police were called to a siege after a man barricaded himself inside a flat.
Officers and fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene of the disturbance in Maryhill at 3.10am.
A 31-year-old man had barricaded himself inside a property on Ruchill Street.
Specially trained Police Scotland negotiators managed to talk the man down.
After around five hours the man was taken to the Western Infirmary by police for assessment.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 3.10am on Tuesday police responded to a report of a man barricaded inside a flat on Ruchill Street.
"Negotiators and public order control officers were called to the scene. A 31-year-old man has been taken to hospital for assessments."
A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
