Road closed after lorry hits bridge

A LORRY has collided with a bridge near a primary school in Lanarkshire.

Police closed West Mains Rad in East Kilbride after the HGV hit the bridge near St Kenneth's Primary School at 7.30am this morning.

It is understood the rear of the lorry crashed into the bridge.

Fire fighters and paramedics attended but the driver was uninjured.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

West Mains Road remains closed and police officers are at the scene.
