The Clydeside Expressway has opened again following a multiple car pile up.

Several vehicles are believed to be involved in the collision between Sawmill Roundabout and Hayburn Street.

The incident happened around 8.40am and briefly closed the eastbound carriageway.

It is believed six cars were involved in the accident.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We received a call at 8:40am about a Road Traffic Accident involving six vehicles on the Clydeside Expressway. Emergency services are at the scene. There are no details of injuries at this time.”

It follows a horror smash on the M8 yesterday morning when five people were taken to hospital following an eight car crash.

The site was cleared by 9.30am.
