Yulia Solodyankina, 22, who was studying physics at Edinburgh University, was reported missing on June 12 last year.

She was last spotted on CCTV at Glasgow's Buchanan Street bus station at about 4.55pm on June 7.

Her body was found near Arrochar in Argyll and Bute earlier this month. There were no suspicious circumstances, police said.

Shortly after Ms Solodyankina was reported missing, her parents made an emotional appeal, describing their daughter as ''our life''.

Police, members of the public, friends and university classmates helped in the search for her.

In a statement released through police, Ms Solodyankina's mother Ekaterina and father Dimitri said: "We would like to express our gratitude to the police officers in Edinburgh, particularly Craigmillar station, Argyll, particularly Helensburgh, and all across Scotland, Consulate General of Russia in Edinburgh, staff of Edinburgh University, all Yulia's friends and everyone who was helping us for what they have been doing since disappearance of our daughter Yulia in June 2013.

"This support and assistance made it easier for us to cope with our loss."
