Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon were mobbed on a walkabout in Glasgow city centre today.

The pair were marking 10 years as leader and deputy leader of the SNP in Buchanan Street with yes supporters and Mr Salmond said he had no plans to step down, even in the event of a no vote.

He said: "We will continue to serve out the mandate we have been given.

"But there is no reason to suspect we will be in that position. Everything I see and hear on the ground and in the streets is extraordinary.

"However there is still a gap to close and we are still the underdog. I am not complacent."
