Lothian MSP Sarah Boyack is expected to announce today she will be a candidate for the Scottish Labour leadership.
Ms Boyack, who was a minister in Jack McConnell's Government, is understood to be prepared to stand to succeed Johann Lamont.
No-one has yet declared officially but Jim Murphy, East Renfrewshire MP and Neil Findlay MSP are the other two thought to be contenders.
Ms Boyack together with Mr Murphy led a review of the Labour leadership which led to Ms Lamont being elected as the first leader of the entire Scottish party in 2001.
