Scotrail has announced plans to introduce a new Sunday service for Duke Street, Alexandra Parade and Barnhill stations in its summer timetable.

The 2015 summer timetable will deliver services to these stations on the Partick to Cumbernauld route from Sunday, May 17.

The stations will receive an hourly service in both directions.

A new Saturday morning service will also be introduced between Oban and Glasgow Queen Street station from Saturday, May 23.

As a result of the new service, the current 8.11am Oban to Glasgow services on a Saturday will change to the same 8.57am departure time as the Monday to Friday service.

Steve Montgomery, ScotRail's managing director, said: "These timetable improvements will give customers in the Glasgow area more opportunities to make the most of their weekend whether they're shopping the city centre, or going further afield."
