The £20 million leisure extension at Silverburn has created a further 160 jobs.

The 10,900 square metre development, where construction started in 2013, is expected to be finished when Cineworld's 14-screen cinema opens.

In addition to the 20 new jobs created with the arrival of Tex-Mex favourite Chimichanga - who opened its doors last week, McDonald's and Cineworld will each bring 70 new jobs to the local area when they open in June.

The new extension already boasts nine new restaurants, including Carluccio's, Cosmo, Five Guys, Pizza Express, Chimichanga, TGI Friday's and Zizzi, which are located within the stylish, skylit Winter Garden area.

David Pierotti, General Manager of Silverburn, said, "This is a very exciting time for Silverburn and the local community.

"These 160 positions being filled is another big step towards our ambition to create a lively leisure destination in the heart of Pollok."

To kick-off their extensive recruitment drive to find team members and supervisors, Cineworld will host a jobs fair in Silverburn on Saturday, April 11 whilst McDonald's are currently accepting applications for a wide variety of full and part time crew member positions.
