Talk about lazy...mattress dumped on M8 during rush hour traffic

During the morning commute most of us think about going back to bed, and it seems the temptation to slip back into dreamland caught motorists by surprise on the M8 this morning - after a mattress was dumped on the busy motorway.

Motorists spotted the offending object - which has now been cleared - on the Kingston Bridge north bound just before 8am and Traffic Scotland joked, "Glasgow: #M8 - there's a mattress on the Kingston Bridge Northbound. Not a great place for a nap."

Traffic Scotland then tweeted a picture of the mattress and added, "Glasgow: #M8 And here is the offending mattress. #lazy! (Kingston Bridge Northbound)."

The mattress is not the only bizarre item to be found on a Scottish motorway this week as the Evening Times online reported yesterday that a washing machine was found on the M74.
