George Square has been partially sealed off for water repair works.
The west side of the square has been closed to traffic while repairs are carried out.
Engineers are working to repair a waste water main in the south west corner of the square.
Scottish Water said it could be "a number of days" before the work is completed.
A spokesman for Scottish Water said: "This will require the temporary closure of all three lanes of Queen Street/the west side of George Square from its junction with St Vincent Place to its junction with George Street.
We have liaised with Glasgow City Council's roads department about the road traffic management.
We will work to complete the repair to the main and lift the road traffic management as quickly as possible.
We thank affected road-users, businesses and pedestrians for their patience and understanding and apologise for any inconvenience."
