A city bar is planning an expansion ahead of the general election.

Bosses at Glasgow's Yesbar, renamed during the independence referendum, hope to open a series of pop-up bars across Scotland before the General Election.

Owner Jim McLaughlin is now searching for other pubs to follow his lead in taking a political stance.

He hopes he can convince other pub owners to take the Yesbar name between April 11 and May 9.

Mr McLaughlin is even offering interested venues a rebranding kit, complete with posters, signage and flyers.

Bars taking part will be given a supply of the venue's trademark brew, Yesbar 45 IPA, as well as the soon-to-be-launched Yes Lager.

On the bar's Facebook page, Jim wrote: "YESbar was born out the spirit of the Scottish independence movement.

"Since the indy ref we have enjoyed much success with the support of the 45+ and received many many requests to open YESbars in villages, towns and cities all over Scotland.

"With this in mind we would like to reach out to fellow pro indy publicans, and give them the chance to rebrand their site temporarily, as a pop-up YESbar in the run up to GE 2015, and become a hub for pro indy supporters."
