The University of the West of Scotland has formed a partnership with international development charity Oxfam Scotland.
Bosses hope that by linking the two organisations they will help make Scotland fairer and more sustainable.
Part of the plans include setting up a forum using public, private and voluntary bodies to generate ideas to tackle poverty.
