RESEARCHERS at Glasgow University have come up with a new drug which will save more lives than the current "gold-standard" treatment for heart failure.
A clinical trial of new compound LCZ696 showed a better survival rate compared to the current treatment called enalapril.
Professor John McMurray said: "We believe this is a much more effective replacement for one of the gold standard drugs."
