GLASGOW war veterans and their families are being offered a cash lifeline.
Legion Scotland - the charitable arm of the Royal British Legion Scotland - is offering grants totalling £83,400 after inquiries for financial help rose by a third in the last year.
Cash support is also being made available to help with travel costs for relatives who want to visit the grave or memorial of a loved one who was killed in action abroad. Funds will also be made available to families keen to visit ex-servicemen or women who are ill or being treated abroad.
