A CIVIL servant has been recognised for her volunteering work.
Valerie Stevens, from Glasgow, was presented with a For You Volunteer Award for her work with The Charity for Civil Servants.
The awards were presented by the chair of the charity Sue Owen, Permanent Secretary at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
The charity helps people who work or have worked in the Civil Service and their families by offering information, practical support and advice.
In 2013 more than 10,000 people in need were supported with advice, referral or financial assistance.
The Charity relies on the support of volunteers.
