CAR lovers were undeterred by yesterday's weather as they turned out to a classic motor show.

The Classic Car Show at Semple Country Park, Lochwinnoch, attracted hoards of enthusiasts eager to catch a glimpse of rare vehicles.

While they perused the various models on display, Hannah Edgar, 7 and her brother Bruce, 5, took shelter from the downpour in a VW Campervan.

Meanwhile, in other parts of the West, shoppers braved the torrential rain and gusty winds as they took to the high streets.

Bad weather is set to continue tomorrow as the tail end of Hurricane Gonzalo hits the UK.

By the time the category four storm reaches Scotland, it will no longer be classified as a hurricane but could still cause some disruption.

Strathclyde has been issued with a yellow weather warning by the Met Office, with the public being asked to be aware of the strong winds.

It is understood there could be travel disruption in Glasgow as the strongest winds hit the west of the country, and drivers are warned conditions may become difficult.
