INDEPENDENCE will mean higher energy bills according to a Labour shadow minister.
Caroline Flint, shadow energy secretary, and Glasgow MP Margaret Curran are launching a new poster warning of rising bills, claiming an extra £875 a year could be added to household bills.
Ms Flint said: "Experts have warned that energy bills will go through the roof with independence.
"The SNP's plans could mean £875 being added to household energy bills.
"That's because Scotland would have to pick up the bill to subsidise renewable energy.
"Today, that burden is shared across 27 million households across the UK, meaning that Scotland can spread the costs and share the rewards of investing in renewable energy.
"Hundreds of thousands of Scots have started voting by post, and I want them to vote No to separation."
