SCOTTISH Water is advising customers in the Queen Margaret Drive area about disruption to their water supply.

Normal supplies will be temporarily shut down on Thursday night and early on Friday morning for improvement works.

Customers from the junction with Oban Drive to its junction with Fergus Drive, will be affected.

The shut down is required to enable us to divert a water main which is located close to two waste water mains that we are working on to reduce the risk of flooding at nine properties in Queen Margaret Drive, which have been affected for a number of years, and on the road carriageway.

Mr Mark Maclaren, Scottish Water's regional communities team manager, said: "We have timed the temporary shut down to normal water supplies to minimise any inconvenience to customers and businesses in the area.

"When the normal water supply is restored, householders and businesses might experience a temporary discolouration of the water.

"If they do, they should run the cold water kitchen tap until the water runs clear.

"We apologise for any in convenience to affected householders and businesses and thank them for their patience and understanding."

The road closure in Queen Margaret Drive will remain in place until the waste water project is completed in about six weeks.

Local businesses in the affected part of Queen Margaret Drive are open for business as usual during the project and road closure.
