THE Commonwealth Games will feature in storylines on both River City and Waterloo Road
Characters in both shows will be seen getting involved in the 2014 Games as part of BBC Scotland's coverage next summer.
River City is based in a fictional part of Glasgow called Shieldinch, while school drama Waterloo Road, above, relocated from England to Greenock last year.
Soap EastEnders enjoyed a ratings boost when the drama included a storyline on the 2012 London Olympics, including a live section in which one of the characters, Billy Mitchell, played by Perry Fenwick, ran through Albert Square with the Olympic torch.
