AN opportunity to cash in on a £50,000 pot of cash is on offer to community groups across Glasgow.

The Evening Times has teamed up with Sport Relief to help the charity distribute the money around the city.

And we're also hoping our readers will sign up for the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile which takes place in Glasgow on March 25.

Among those backing the campaign are TV presenter Lorraine Kelly and The Only Way is Essex star Amy Childs.

The grants, of between £500 and £1000, are available to small organisations doing great work to help local people living tough lives.

Lorraine said: "I think it's brilliant that Sport Relief has teamed up with the Evening Times.

"The great thing about these grants is that they offer a small amount of cash that will make a massive difference to groups right across greater Glasgow.

"If you're eligible for a grant, get that application in now and don't miss out on the chance to get some well- deserved money to help people in your community."

Lorraine is also hoping to run the Glasgow Sport Relief Mile.

For your chance to win a share of the cash, apply at www.scot tishcf.org/sr communitycash. The closing date for entries is Friday, March 16.
