VOTERS are getting answers to questions on the doorstep that they're not getting from the SNP, says Scottish Lib Dem leader Willie Rennie.

He said the Better Together campaign is targeting individuals with concerns rather than focusing heavily on public meetings to get the key messages out.

He said: "I have been impressed by the volume of activists for the Yes campaign, but we are now matching that.

"Yes is leading public meetings, Better Together is targeted, less visible but more delicate in its execution, using more effective methods."

While he takes part in public meetings he said the targeted approach for some people is better instead of questions lost in large debates.

He said: "People are telling us they can't get the answers. When you have discussions on the doorstep you can go into pensions and currency and talk about the pros and cons on either side.

"Many of the meetings have more nationalists, who have made up their minds and shout down speakers. You can't get answers to questions in that situation. It becomes difficult to have a mature discussion."

"Glasgow is rooted in the successes and the testing times of the UK. It ebbs and flows. I understand why people want change and improvements. But we can get that from the UK.

"The City Deal, orders for the Clyde, and 50% more funding for universities via research councils are just three examples of benefits to Glasgow."
