A WIDOW has pleaded with Twitter users not to get in touch with her after her address was wrongly posted on the site in connection with an alleged malicious tweet.

Mother-of-three Ashley Ball, 38, from Sunderland, said she had received a delivery pizza and offensive messages after her home addresses was posted on Twitter.

The address was posted by Twitter users who were angry about a tweet.

The 19-year-old, believed to be Ross Loraine, from Sunderland, handed himself in to police after a number of complaints were made about the tweet.

He is alleged to have written: "So a bin lorry has crashed into 100 people in Glasgow eh, probably the most trash its ever picked up in one day that."

Northumbria Police said he was arrested on suspicion of making a malicious communication and had been bailed while they made further inquiries into the incident.

However, Mrs Ball said she moved into the home in 2013 after her husband died in 2012.

She said: "He doesn't live here anymore. I moved here in April 2013 to be across from my parents.

"I was woken up by police in the middle of the night to tell me my address was on Twitter.

"We've been through hell and we've not done anything wrong.

"I don't know if I'm going to get more threats. I just want to be left alone.

"I want to get the message out to ask people not to send anything to the house or come to the house."
