A 92-YEAR-OLD woman is in a serious condition in hospital after a hit-and-run at a supermarket car park.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident yesterday afternoon at Tesco in Annick Street, Shettleston.
At around 1.10pm, the woman was walking through the car park pushing her shopping trolley when she was hit by a silver Vauxhall Corsa which was reversing out of a parking bay.
The driver got out of the vehicle and fled from the scene.
The woman was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she has been detained suffering from head, body and ankle injuries. Staff describe her condition as serious but stable.
Inspector David Carballo, of Police Scotland's Road Policing division, said: "I would appeal to any person who was in the vicinity and witnessed this incident to come forward."
