Woman cut from car after vehicle hits embankment

A WOMAN has to be rescued after a car crash left her trapped in her vehicle.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the woman after her car left the A760, near Kilbirnie, in Ayrshire yesterday and stopped on an embankment.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received a call from Police Scotland shortly before 2.50pm reporting one car had been involved in a collision heading towards Lochwinnoch and two people were trapped.

A second woman managed to free herself from the car before emergency crews arrived.
