A WOMAN was forced to the ground and robbed of her savings by three men who threatened her with a weapon.

The 51-year-old was approached outside a Post Office in Millerston by the men who took two bags she was carrying containing a five-figure sum of money.

The thieves, one of whom was carrying a blunt weapon, then made off in a black Renault Clio car, which was later found abandoned in Mossvale Park.

It is understood that the suspects then used another car to escape after the attack on Monday at 11.25am.

Although the woman was not seriously injured, she has been left badly shaken by the ordeal outside the Station Road Post Office.

The first suspect is described as white, in his early 30s and approximately 5ft 8in in height.

He was wearing a red and blue Tammy-type hat and a red zipped top.

The second and third suspects are described as a white males in their mid-30s, wearing dark clothing.

Detective Sergeant Raymond Hunter of Pollok Community Investigation Unit said:"This is understood to be a targeted attack on a woman who was in the process of moving money.

"We are in the process of reviewing CCTV images from the location and we are also gathering images from around the local area to gather further details on the cars involved and the suspects."
