A WOMAN had to be freed from her vehicle after it flipped on the M8 motorway.

The one-vehicle crash took place on the M8 between junctions 29 and 30 yesterday around 12noon.

The car overturned and came to rest on its roof near the Erskine Bridge.

She was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Emergency services attended the scene, and one lane of the M8 (eastbound) was closed while the car was removed.

The road was reopened at around 1pm
