A WOMAN is in a serious condition in hospital after being struck by a bus.

The woman was hit in Govan Road, in Glasgow's South Side, just before 1.25pm on Thursday.

Govan Road is closed between Napier Road and Golspie Street.

A McGills bus is stationary at the scene, along with an overturned mobility scooter, a blanket and a jacket.

A Scottish Ambulance spokeswoman said the trauma team was in attendance at the scene.

The woman was taken to Southern General. Her condition is not known but it appears to be serious.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said officers were at the scene and inquiries were ongoing.

A Glasgow City Council notice said the road would remain closed "until further notice".
