A WOMAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Ayrshire.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the grill pan fire in Hayocks Road, Stevenston.
The woman was provided with oxygen by fire crews and given further treatment at the scene by ambulance paramedics.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service group manager Albert Bruce said: "This incident shows fire can happen to any of us and even a small fire in a grill pan can produce large amounts of toxic smoke that puts people at serious risk.
"Thankfully we are not coming to terms with a tragedy."
