talented young musicians from South Ayrshire performed at Glasgow's City Halls with the West of Scotland Schools Orchestra and the West of Scotland Schools Concert Band.
Pupils had to audition for a place in both the orchestra and the band. Those who were successful then took part in a residential course in June.
Pupils from Queen Margaret Academy, Prestwick Academy, Marr College and Belmont Academy in South Ayrshire gained places in the orchestra and one pupil from Belmont Academy gained a place in the band.
Following on from this the 12 musicians took part in a number of concerts culminating in a performance in Glasgow City Halls last week.
Councillor Margaret Toner, lifelong learning portfolio holder for South Ayrshire Council, said: "I am delighted these talented young musicians had the experience of performing at the Glasgow Concert Hall.
"Experiences like this are invaluable for our students."
