PUPILS of Cumnock Academy are drumming up a storm playing steel pans.
Nearly 30 pans were delivered to the school after students attended the first Scottish Steel Pan Festival in Nairn, Aberdeenshire earlier in the year, where they learnt how to play with the help of instrument maker and musician Toussaint Clarke.
He said: "They picked it up so quickly, I can't wait to see what they are going to do next."
The pupils of the Ayrshire school have been attending workshops with their new instruments and will be playing at local events.
Karin McKenzie, S6 pupil, said: "I have really enjoyed learning to play the steel pans. I'm looking forward to making a big noise."
