THE banks of the River Clyde to the east of the city centre have been crying out for regeneration for years.
THE banks of the River Clyde to the east of the city centre have been crying out for regeneration for years.
While much investment has been poured into the Glasgow Harbour and Pacific Quay developments, further upstream has been neglected.
Proposals for a hotel with a floating annexe would help bring new life to a part of the city centre in need of a boost.
Previous attempts to transform the Briggait area have failed to capture the imagination, but with the closure of Paddy's Market, its time may have come.
Investment in this area and imaginative projects like this are essential if this previously neglected end of the city is to thrive again.
Good work our special agent
WELL done Calum Anderson, who came to the aid of an injured woman while out on his Evening Times delivery round The quick thinking 13-year-old put his first aid training into practice and even used his bag full of papers as an improvised support prop.
While others walked by, ignoring the woman, Calum knew he had a duty to help and proved himself a good citizen.
His parents are rightly proud of their son who is the latest junior agent to help out in a crisis.
Calum fully deserves his Junior Agent of the Month award, and the Evening Times and Shettleston are privileged to have him.
