THE education inspectors' report on Cumbernauld's St Andrew's Primary School shows joint campuses work.
THE education inspectors' report on Cumbernauld's St Andrew's Primary School shows joint campuses work.
The excellent ratings prove that sharing facilities with Cumbernauld Primary have had no detrimental impact on either school - the reverse is true.
That should surprise no-one. Kids of all backgrounds and religions play happily together outside school so why should it be any different in the schoolyard?
Hopefully, the inspectors' findings will ease any misgivings church authorities may still harbour about shared campuses.
Pupils, their parents and teachers at the schools deserve credit for showing the way forward for Scottish education.
Testing time for city's top cop
THE answers provided by Chief Constable Steve House after our Crime On Your Street series won't please everyone.
But unlike his low-profile predecessor, Strathclyde's new top cop is facing the public and is trying to answer their questions.
It's a visible signal that he's taking our readers' comments and questions seriously - and that alone is a big improvement on what happened previously.
However, this must be more than a public relations exercise.
Results are what counts and the measure of his success will be if he makes Strathclyde safer.
