EAST Park school has been a fixture in Maryhill caring for children and young adults for generations.
The charity has grown and developed over the years and adapted to the changing needs of the young people it looks after, but still providing the care and trust that is valued.
While the facilities have been upgraded on many occasions and a proportion of funding comes from government the charity is still dependent on donations for its work.
The school caters for children who have been unsuccessfully placed elsewhere for varying reasons but the expertise at East Park allows the staff to look after children with the most complex forms of autism.
Over the years the charity has forged strong links with the community and partnerships with institutions to help with fundraising and educational links.
As East Park celebrates 140 years of first-class care this week the Evening Times is highlighting the outstanding work it does.
Today, we join the families and the local community in congratulating the staff on the achievement and look forward to many more years of the same dedication and expertise benefiting the children in their care who are less fortunate than many others.
