LOCAL football team St Rochs FC is looking for sponsors.

The squad, based in Provanmill, is also looking for donations.

Officials say they are determined to find a sponsor to make sure they can compete in local matches.

SPRINGBURN schools and community groups are working with the National Theatre of Scotland to create a series of live events in June.

The project has been touring schools and community groups around Springburn.

It comes after residents in the north of Glasgow lit up their local park to shine a spotlight on their community.

Dozens of people released home-made lanterns into the night air at Springburn Park.

Revellers were met by storytellers reciting The Tin Forest story.

The Light Up project is part of The Tin Forest initiative aimed at celebrating Glasgow 2014.

A hospice in the city's North East is looking for donations as part of The Great Daffodil Appeal.

The Marie Curie Hospice in Balornock Road, Springburn, is taking part in the annual fundraising drive.

Local people are being urged to raise cash for the hospice.

More than 120 Daffodil Collections have already been set up across the country.

It comes as volunteers raised more than £6000 for the hospice at its annual fair last December.

BUDDING entrepreneurs in the North East are being urged to take part in a new scheme.

Ng homes, which is based in Springburn, is looking for Glasgow's next generation of young entrepreneurs who want to help people in their local community.

The initiative offers 16 to 21-year-olds up to £5000 to get their idea off the ground.

NORTH East residents are being encouraged to make the most of their local swimming pool.

The Kay Street building offers leisure swimming, lane swimming, a skill squad and a fun session, with inflatables.

There is also a sauna, steam room and spa.
