EVERYONE is familiar with the city's marketing slogans, from Glasgow's Miles Better to People Make Glasgow.

The proof of those statements on TV and billboards and the faces behind them are to be found in the communities all over the city.

That's where the Evening Times Streets Ahead awards have found them for the last two years and were we are certain we will find them again this year.

Our campaign backed with support, expertise and resources from our partners City Charitable Trust, Clean Glasgow, Glasgow Housing Association, ScotRail and Scottish Fire and Rescue, has inspired people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved and make improvements in their community.

Last year's overall winner Shettleston Community Growing Project really helped to brighten up the streets of the East End and is a perfect example of the sort of a local organisation we are looking to hear from.

We want to hear who you think should be recognised and congratulated for their efforts in your area.

Get in touch using the contact details on p6 today and help us find the Streets Ahead winners of 2014.

They are the people who make Glasgow and who make Glasgow miles better. And we want to help you, the people, thank them.
