6 The Swinging Blue Jeans: Liverpool lads who went to the top with Hippy Hippy Shake.
7 The Merseybeats: Cavern Club regulars whose biggest hit was I Think of You.
8 The Fourmost: Liverpool band whose best known hit was Hello Little Girl.
9 Frankie Vaughan: Mr Moonlight took Tower of Strength to number one in the pre-Beatles days.
10 The Scaffold:
Lily the Pink was the biggest hit for this threesome, which featured poet Roger McGough, comedian John Gorman and Paul McCartney's wee brother, Mike McGear.
