YOU know it's summer in Glasgow when it's West End Festival parade time, no matter the weather.
The colourful parade and the mix of cultures and wonderful eclectic plethora of events attracts people from all over the city and beyond to enjoy the best of what Glasgow has to offer.
The West End has the newly refurbished and re-opened Kelvingrove Park bandstand this year to offer another venue for entertainment for many years into the future and the bowling greens nearby are also open after the work to host the Commonwealth Games.
The festival and the procession is just the start of a summer of events in the city and not just in the west, as the East End takes centre stage for the Games.
All over Glasgow there will be community events as people celebrate all that is good about their area in gala days local festivals, fun runs and parades.
We know from our Streets Ahead and Community Champion campaigns how much pride people have in their part of the city and together that is what makes Glasgow special.
We hope everyone has a wonderful summer and, whatever festival you take part in, we hope you have a great time.
Is it too much to hope for sunshine as well?
