Stanger emerged the hero at Twickenham in 1990 with the winning try in a 13-7 victory.
2 Euan Kennedy: Tore through the England defence like a knife through butter in 1984.
3 David Johnston: The former Hearts player outpaced Clive Woodward to score a try in the same game, an 18-6 win.
4 Sean Maitland: The New Zealand-born Maitland opened the scoring for the Scots in 2013.
5 Stuart Hogg: Hogg scored a breakaway try in the same match but by then England were well ahead.
6 Duncan Hodge: Scored a try, a conversion and four penalties in a 19-13 win in 2010.
7 Roy Laidlaw: Still remembered for his long-range solo effort against the Auld Enemy in 1983.
8 Simon Taylor: Scored one of three Scotland tries in a 43-22 defeat in 2005.
9 Sean Lamont: Also scored for Scotland in the same match at Twickenham.
10 Andy Craig: The third 2005 try-scorer, his score gave the Scots real hope.
