SO it's my last week at the Edinburgh Festival and what a phenomenal few weeks it's been.

For the most part the sun has been shining, well except for last Saturday night when a group of my closest girlfriends came through from Glasgow to see my show and then had planned to hit the town afterwards, only for the heavens to open up and unleash an almighty monsoon down on us.

Trying to hike it up The Mound with torrential rain bouncing off the payment in high heels just wasn't ideal and by the time we arrived at the Loft Bar in the Gilded Balloon we looked as though we'd taken part in a group ice bucket challenge with a JCB, stunning as you can imagine.

Still the sight of Eddie Izzard looking fabulous at the bar and the line of sambuca shooters my friend Lisa had purchased for us suddenly made the fact that my underwear and legging would have to be peeled off with industrial pliers when I got home a completely tolerable reality.

I don't care what anyone says, Edinburgh has to be one of the most exciting places on earth during the month of August with more than 3000 shows and events happening across the city not to mention the fact that there's a celebrity to spot and attempt to get in a selfie on every corner.

I mean where else in the world would you rather be?

I've just loved every minute of it and as well as performing my own one woman show, Michelle McManus Reloaded, every night at the Stand in the Square, I've also been lucky enough to host some of the cabaret evenings at Le Monde Hotel; headline the Fest at Forth gig in Harvey Nics; perform live on the Famous Grouse stage on George Street; and I was even lucky enough to be a guest and sing on the Janice Forsyth Show on BBC Radio Scotland.

The BBC has a fantastic set up at Potterrow right next to the Gilded Balloon where they've been broadcasting live throughout the festival with the likes of Franz Ferdinand taking to the stage and Rory Bremner offering his Fringe tips.

Early in the week the top 10 jokes from this year's Festival, sponsored by the TV channel Dave, were announced, so

What do you think of them?

1 "I just deleted all the German names off my phone. It's Hans free," Darren

Walsh.

2 "Kim Kardashian is saddled with a huge arse ... but enough about Kanye West," Stewart

Francis.

3 "Surely every car is a people carrier?" Adam Hess.

4 "What's the difference between a 'hippo' and a 'Zippo'? One is really heavy, the other is a little lighter," Masai

Graham.

5 "If I could take just one thing to a desert island I probably wouldn't go," Dave Green.

6 "Jesus fed 5,000 people with two fishes and a loaf of bread. That's not a miracle. That's tapas," Mark Nelson.

7 "Red sky at night. Shepherd's delight. Blue sky at night. Day," Tom Parry.

8 "The first time I met my wife, I knew she was a keeper. She was wearing massive gloves," Alun Cochrane

9. "Clowns divorce. Custardy battle," Simon Munnery

10 "They're always telling me to live my dreams. But I don't want to be naked in an exam I haven't revised for..." Grace The Child

Personally my favourite was number 6 from comedian Mark Nelson but that's the beauty of comedy.

It's totally subjective and what tickles one person might not even raise a small smile in another.

For those of you who haven't been through to the Fringe yet or if you've never ever been to the Festival I can't urge you enough to down tools and head east for the final weekend because trust me you'll be so very glad you did.

I'll be truly sorry when it comes to my last show on Sunday evening but I will most definitely look back on the Summer of '15 as one of my best yet.

Thanks to you Edinburgh, you host the biggest arts and culture festival in the world each year and as always you have done it again in style, cheers.

Michelle McManus Reloaded is on at 7pm each night in St Andrews Square until Sunday 30th August 2015.
