I've been keeping a relatively low profile the past couple of weeks because I've been getting organised for my holiday to Mexico. But don't worry, I still managed to make it out to a couple of gigs.

Glasgow Times:

Last week I went to the Bobath Scotland charity gig at Stereo. XFM's Jim Gellatly hosted the line-up of up and coming bands including Dublin four piece We Were Giants and a long time personal favourite of mine Young Aviators. If you get the chance to check out Young Aviators live go for it. I'm tipping this band for big things. Bobath is a Scottish charity devoted to improving the quality of life for children and adults with cerebral palsy. You can find out more about the work Bobath Scotland does and their upcoming events on their website.

On Wednesday night, I went to Edinburgh for a very special event at the Edinburgh TV Festival. A year and a half ago, my boyfriend Robert and the rest of Glasvegas jetted out to Ecuador to spend four days living in the rainforest with Waorani tribe of Bameno. Robert has had the opportunity to do some really cool things with the band but I must say I've never been as envious as when he was leaving to go to the rainforest. What an amazing experience! The trip was filmed as part of a series that took different musicians including the Happy Mondays and Myleene Klass out of their comfort zones as they were sent to live with various tribes around the world. Wednesday night was the premier of Glasvgeas Singing In The Rainforest at Filmhouse Cinema and after 15 months of hearing the band's stories and seeing pictures of some very naked tribes people I was really excited to finally get to see the show. Hilarious from start to finish and very touching in places, I wasn't disappointed. It was amazing to finally get to see what they had experienced and witness the bond they'd made with the Waorani people. After the viewing there was a short Q&A and a live stripped back performance by the band.

Singing In The Rainforest will be on the Watch channel starting September 14. Check out the trailer...

Tomorrow I'm going to see SAY Award shortlisted and lovely Paisley Buddy Paolo Nutini at Bellahouston Park. Not only am I looking forward to seeing Paolo's set but he also has some amazing support! Tuff Love, The View, Soak, and the one and only Grace Jones are also playing. I've been a big fan of Soak for a while now and haven't had the chance to see her live yet so I'm looking forward to checking out her set. Enjoy if you're heading along and let's all keep our fingers crossed for sunshine!

It will be a few weeks before I write another column as I'm off on holiday. Maybe I'll discover some amazing music in Mexico! Do you all like mariachi bands? Ole!
