SO it's officially goodbye to Edinburgh and the month of August and hello to September, what a

month you're turning out to be already.

I'm delighted to say that for the next three weeks I'll be in the hot seat at BBC Radio Scotland on Fridays from 10pm hosting a brand new show called The Music Match.

I'm very excited about it as I love radio and have done ever since my very first show on Radio Clyde back in 2006, which in all honesty completely kick started my presenting career in Scotland after living down in London for a few years.

The station's MD Paul Cooney had offered me a Saturday night slot as he was looking for a real party show after Super Scoreboard finished in the afternoon which was perfect for me as I was 26 at the time and right in the midst of my partying heydays, as I now call them.

You know, that time in your life when you were young enough to go out without suffering a two day hangover straight from the burning fires of hell, while rolling about all four corners of your bed with fear after reading the 'breezy' texts messages you sent to your ex at 3am telling him how amazing you're doing and how awesome your life is right now without him?

Yes, that time when you could stay out dancing until 5am and still make your work at 9am looking fresh as a daisy and ready to get straight back on it again that night with the girls.

It was a fantastic show and my producer Ashley and I would literally laugh for three hours solid, talking nonsense while playing 90's dance classic that reminded us of our youth.

One week a listener had challenged me to go away and learn the entire Jazzy P rap section of the Kylie Minogue hit Shocked which I then performed live on air the following week.

Thankfully the tape of that disastrous rap attempt mysteriously disappeared from the Radio Clyde vaults never to be heard of again.

I then moved to Radio Scotland in 2007 to take over, Lets Do The Show Right Here, which had up until that point been hosted by the lovely Bryan Burnett.

The premise of the show was really simple.

Myself and the LDTSRH team would travel around Scotland meeting local groups who were trying to raise

money for a good cause which could have been anything from refurbishing a community hall to helping a local charity.

We would then host the night for them and bring along a special celebrity guest to perform.

We had some really great artists feature over the two series but my favourites were Kiki Dee and Tony Christie who were also just so lovely to work with.

The groups, of course, got to keep all monies raised and we got to make a great programme for BBC Radio

Scotland.

After that I was lucky enough to co-host the Real Radio Breakfast Show with the bonkers Ewen Cameron when my dear friend Cat Harvey was off on her travels but it's been a while since I've hosted my own show and I'm really looking forward to it.

I want to play a mixture of great tunes as it's the start of the weekend but I'm hoping for some hilarious listener banter and interaction too.

I'll be asking for your musical memories, what songs are particularly special to you and why?

Also I'm going to introduce the Friday Faux Pas.

We've all done it right?

That time when you really stuck your foot in it big style with no way of digging yourself out of that hole?

Well I want to hear about it and funniest story will be crowned winner that evening.

It's Friday night so let's have a party and I promise absolutely no rapping this time, well maybe a little if I play Rhythm is a Dancer as it's just impossible not to.

You can get in touch with me throughout the show by following us on Twitter@BBCMusicMatch or via text and email, details of which I'll give out on the night.

The Music Match Friday 10pm -1am on BBC Radio Scotland on 9295fm or 810mw.
