WELL it's just been another ordinary week for me to be honest, writing my column, tidying the house, hosting different corporate events, getting the weekly messages in and oh, dressing up as a sparkly larger than life mermaid and sprawling myself along the bonnet of a car called KITT (queue the Night Rider theme tune) alongside global mega star David Hasselhoff and the legendary Krankies at the SECC in Glasgow to promote this year's panto Peter Pan.

Yes possibly the most surreal but utterly wonderful experience in my career to date and I was loving every minute of it.

It hasn't quite sunk in yet that I'll be running about a stage this Christmas at the Clyde Auditorium in Neverland helping Peter Pan and those Lost Boys escape the clutches of the nasty Captain Hook but after meeting everyone at Monday's press call I'm more excited than ever for what's in store.

David Hasselhoff is one of the sweetest most down to earth guys I've ever met and the audiences this year are in for such a rare treat, I mean how often do we get a star like this coming to tread the boards in Pantomime here in Glasgow.

As for The Krankies well they are surely Scottish showbiz royalty with Janette recently revealing that she's to star in the new Absolutely Fabulous movie currently in production with Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley.

I'm playing Mimi the Magical Mermaid and as a larger lassie I was slightly nervous about my costumes but after seeing my outfit and giving it a whirl on Monday I'm now just wondering how I can convince the powers that be to let me hit The Shed nightclub in Shawlands on a Friday night in that fabulous get up.

November looks like it's going to fly in Tinker Bell style with rehearsals only a few weeks away.

I’ll let you in on a little secret though, I’ve already seen the script I can only promise you that this will absolutely be the panto you simply do not want to miss.

It's hilarious, the songs are big belting sing along numbers and most importantly with the spectacular 3-D effects it's the most magical show you’ll see this festive period.

For more information and tickets call 0844 395 4005 or log onto www.secc.co.uk

Remember, remember the 5th of November.

Yes it's bonfire night so it's time to dust off the old earmuffs and dig out the big thick gloves to wear as you shake those sparklers in the air, like you just don't care.

The McManus’ will be having their annual firework bonanza on Friday evening so people of Baillieston as always brace yourselves and fear not, my brother-in-law is a fully trained firefighter so a professional will be on hand when my father once again doesn't correctly nail the Catherine Wheel to the fence before setting it alight.

Whatever your plans are tonight please remember to be safe.

I'm off to watch the GHA display in Giffnock with friends but there are lots of other organised events taking place around the city tonight and tomorrow evening too.

Happy Bonfire night.

Much love and congratulations to former Miss Scotland and Miss United Kingdom winner Nieve Jennings and Stuart King on becoming husband and wife yesterday on the shore of Loch Lomond.

Thank you for a beautiful evening and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness.
