WELL Hurricane Abigail is doing her very best to literally dampened everyone's spirits this week with her torrential rain and gale force winds, but I for one will not be letting her have her way.

Despite the depressing weather and folk asking me if I’ve arrived via motor bike due to my hair looking like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards, I've had a really lovely week which kicked off with a beautiful overnight stay at the luxurious Cameron House on the banks of Loch Lomond.

Thanks to Andy Roger and all his staff for ensuring we had the most wonderful stay and

to my pal Cat Harvey for organising it.

I then headed through east to the Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh to host the annual CHAS Ladies Lunch which as always was just an incredible day.

Thank you so much to all you gorgeous girls for attending, singing along and standing all over those 5 star hotel chairs in six inch stiletto heels.

But more importantly for raising a whopping £71,000 for the Children's Hospice, a truly unbelievable amount of money.

Over the weekend I attended and performed at the last ever Dynasty Ball at The Glasgow City Hotel and was really honoured to play a small part in such a fantastic night.

The charity, founded by Rita Madhok who was known professionally to millions as Darlinda the astrologer/psychic, is dedicated to improving the lives of people with renal concerns through research and development.

Since it began back in 1987 Darlinda’s Charity has donated more than £1m and is currently the biggest benefactor to the Glasgow Western Infirmary’s Renal Unit, supporting vital research projects.

I also performed at the Erskine Ladies Lunch in the Corinthian, Glasgow on Sunday with STV Glasgow’s David Farrell hosting.

Erskine is one of my favourite charities and I always jump at the chance to support

them in anyway I can.

So as I say a very eventful week indeed and you’d be right in thinking this coming weekend couldn't possibly top that right?

Well it can and it absolutely will because I'm delighted to announce that I'll be turning on the Christmas Lights in George Square this Sunday evening.

It's honestly just the biggest deal for me because as a little girl I would come into the

city centre every year with my family to watch that magical switch on and now all these years later it's me up on that stage doing the countdown and pressing that big red button. This time though I'll have my darling little nephew Sam there with me which will just make the night complete although I'm hoping he's going to recognise me in my Mimi the Magical Mermaid costume.

At 21-months-old he's still a bit too young to come see me at the SECC panto Peter Pan

this year but he will most definitely love the Christmas Lights as we took him last year and he had a ball.

It's times like this when I look at my life and thank my lucky stars for all of my

blessings.

It's hard to call what I do a job sometimes because I utterly adore my work but I'm

extremely grateful for all of the wonderful opportunities I'm given.

For those if you lucky enough to get your hands on those golden tickets I'll see you at George Square on Sunday evening and if you can't make it along why not come see me, The Krankies and David Hasselhoff this Christmas at the Clyde Auditorium.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.secc.co.uk/peterpan

There are still some tickets left for the Christmas T for Tommy Ladies Lunch at Celtic Park on Sunday November 22.

I'll be your hostess with the mostess on the day with bubbles on arrival, festive afternoon tea, a Christmas market to browse around and entertainment from the incredible Soundsational Choir and a few Christmas Crackers from me.

I also have it on good authority that the main man himself Santa Claus may indeed drop by if any of you ladies would like to sit on his knee to see if you've been naughty or nice.

So make sure you don't miss out on this fantastic festive afternoon of fun and frolics.
