"Welcome to Hollywood, what's your dream?" Woohoo! I am coming to you live from the US of A.

Glasgow Times:

Pretty Woman's Julia Roberts and Richard Gere

I feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman at every turn, minus the prostitute part, obviously. I can't lie to you, it's so lovely to feel the warm sunshine on my face, even more so in January.

Jono, Faye and Gary

I've had a busy old time of it in the run up to getting on the plane. My pal Jono and I headed to London for a few days before I left. We booked an amazing wee hotel on Fleet Street and set about being a couple of city slickers. No trip to London is complete without going to the theatre.

We were booked in to see Grey Gardens at the Southwark Playhouse - it's a musical based on the iconic documentary based on Jackie Kennedy's auntie and cousin, Edith Bouvier-Beale and her daughter, Edie. The two women were high society aristocrats living in an estate in the Hamptons, who ultimately let it go to ruin and were living in squalor at the height of Jackie Kennedy's time as First Lady. Sheila Hancock was playing Big Edie and looked incredible onstage. Jenna Russell was the absolute star of the show - Little Edie is a gift of a character for any actor, so wacky and fun to watch. She totally nailed it.

Our second day took us to a cool pop up exhibition on Brewer Street called Lights of Soho. I wanted to buy so many of the pieces, but with the lowest one costing £900, I thought I'd best keep that and turn it into dollars for California.

Jono's sister, Faye, was in London from New York and took us to dinner at the Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone; Kate Moss is a regular, as is Lindsay Lohan. We had a hilarious few hours of confusion when I thought Jono had said Lionel Ritchie is a regular instead of LiLo and kept singing dancing on the ceiling and wondering if he'd be sitting with any other music legends. No LiLo or Lionel, unfortunately, but we did sit at the table next to Dawn French in Joe Allen's after our theatre trip. Same thing really.

Glasgow Times:

The main reason for our London jaunt was to celebrate Dawn Steele's 40th birthday (above). We had such a wonderful time and Dawn looked incredible - that lassie sure knows how to throw a party. Happy Birthday Dawn! I'm actually glad to be in LA for a rest now.

Glasgow Times:

After my weekend of fun, I met Holly Jack at Heathrow airport to begin our LA adventure. In the departure lounge we spotted Oscar winner Michael Keaton getting on our flight; I know him as Batman, but Holly knows him as Birdman. Bird or Bat, we were off to a flying start!

I don't mind telling you all that on our first day in LA, myself, Holly and my best pal Natalie were in a park under the Hollywood sign doing circuits. I totally understand why everyone is into working out over here, the sunshine totally gets you motivated.

A post exercise fruit bowl and walk to the supermarket to stock up on healthy provisions for our apartment was about all we could handle on the jet lag. Lots of sunny fun awaits, but don't fret, I've not changed that much. I nabbed a two litre bottle of vodka for 20 bucks. I am on holiday after all...
