The Glasgow International Comedy Festival is in full swing and I managed to get along this week to see Scottish wrestling personality Grado.

The funnyman, known for River City and Scot Squad, had me in stitches with his antics on stage at the King's Theatre on Thursday night.

Glasgow Times:

I really didn't know what to expect from the man, who once pleaded with Madonna to use her song Like A Prayer for his ring entrance in wrestling.

But what I can say is Grado made me laugh a lot - and surely that is the point of a good comedy show.

He is camp and controversial, and I found his childhood tales from growing up in Stevenson endearing.

He has that Kevin Bridges quality of being one of us - and for that reason you just like him.

He is playing the Glasgow venue tonight again, and I would recommend getting along to see him in action. For more click here

Drive: Out of Glasgow

I find it mental when we go abroad, we take endless pictures of the sights - yet we barely appreciate what we have on our own doorstep. So this weekend, I am urging you to get out of the big city and explore. I have had some fantastic road trips in the last few weeks, and some of the sights have been simply breathtaking.

Stirling is probably a 20 minute drive from the city and the scenery is out of this world. There is the castle ofc ourse and lots of other touristy things to do. I had a great day walking around and taking in the sights (picture above) - and it made me appreciate just how beautiful our country is.

Glasgow Times:

I was also lucky enough to have Monday off and the sun was actually out. Can you believe it? I therefore headed to Loch Lomond and drove right through Helensburgh, and again the views were spectacular. Some times the best things in life really are free.
