It's not often you get to go to work and surround yourself with strawberries and delicious cream cakes while wearing a pink curly wig, feather boa and big pink sunglasses - all so you can pose and laugh while getting your picture taken but hey, that was my task at work this week and I absolutely loved it.

I was beyond delighted when Asda got in touch and asked me to launch this year's Breast Cancer Care Strawberry Tea campaign which encourages catch ups with family and friends over cake while raising funds for charity and let's be honest, I'm clearly I'm a woman who loves a wee cake and a right good gab.

Glasgow Times:

I was blown away to discover that more than 60 Asda stores across Scotland will, for the first time, join Breast Cancer Care’s annual summer fundraiser which began back in 1998, a year where I thought long satin shirts and plastic block heeled shoes were the height of fashion.

Now almost 18 years since the first ever Strawberry Tea event was launched, it is bigger and better than ever before. From June 4 to 18 each of the participating Asda stores will host a Strawberry Tea stall with activities for customers to get involved, including cupcake decorating and a teapot lucky dip. There will also be information on how the public can join in and host their own Strawberry Tea, as well as background about the charity and the much needed services it provides. Don't forget all money raised will help Breast Cancer Care provide support for women, men, family and friends affected by breast cancer.

I went along on Tuesday morning to the gorgeous Winter Gardens at The People's Palace to meet up with some lovely members of staff from stores all across Scotland who will be working hard to ensure as much money as possible is raised by Asda and its customers next month. It was one of the funniest mornings I've had in awhile. A big thanks to Liz, Grace, Wilma and John for being such good sports and of course a huge thanks to Ali from Breast Cancer Scotland who is getting married on Sunday. I hope it's everything you’ve dreamed of my dear.

Now I'm not going to lie, by the end of the press launch on Tuesday I'd grown rather attached to my pink curly wig and I was completely embracing the Barbara Cartland look I'd accidentally created by raiding the pink Breast Cancer dressing up box provided.

Some of you may remember that I actually went proper pink for real last year for a few months and I loved it so much that perhaps I should just bite the pink bullet and go for it again although can someone else break the news to my wonderful hairdresser Taylor Ferguson for me?

He and his team deserve a medal for how often I change my hair and colour, but maybe I'll just show him this picture of me rocking that pink curly wig and that will help convince him but then again maybe not. My bonkers hair dreams aside, the most important thing is that we get the message out there. The message that you can make such a huge difference to so many people's lives by raising much needed funds while having a great time eating and drinking with friends.

So what are you waiting for my dears? To sign up for a free Breast Cancer Care Strawberry Tea fundraising kit visit www.breastcancercare.org.uk/cuppa or visit your local Asda store for more information and to take part in Strawberry Tea fundraising activities.

I’m very excited to say I'll be back in the Music Match hot seat again tonight on BBC Radio Scotland from 11pm onwards playing some of my favourite songs and chatting away about what's been happening since I was last on air. So much has been happening recently but maybe I'll kick off tonight's show with the The Dixie Cups Chapel of love. How does it start again? Oh that's right it's “Going to the chapel and we’re going to get married….”
